
The Izard County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam in Izard County. The complainant stated they received a call with the caller ID showing ICPD with a private number. The caller identified themselves as Chief Deputy Davidson. The caller stated the person had an arrest warrant and wanted payment. The caller gave directions to a place where a gift card/money order could be obtained and the information given to the caller. The caller also stated there was a gag order and that the person they called could not tell anyone about the call or warrant.
The Sheriff’s Office says Please be cautious of any calls you get where someone is asking you to get a gift card, Apple play card, or a money order and then ask for you to give the information to them over the phone. If you receive a call like this, please call 870-368-4203 and ask to speak to a deputy.
