JONESBORO, Ark. (10/7/24) – Arkansas State sophomore place-kicker Clune Van Andel has been named the Sun Belt Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Van Andel was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals, including a 34-yard game-winner with 10 seconds remaining to lift A-State to an 18-16 win over South Alabama. He totaled 13 points in the game, the most by an A-State kicker since Blake Grupe had 14 against Memphis in 2021. He is the first A-State kicker to go 4-for-4 on field goals since Dominic Zvada at Ohio State in 2022.
This is the second weekly honor of the season for Van Andel after earning the weekly accolade following his performance against Central Arkansas in the season opener.
