The open enrollment period for Medicare and other healthcare plans is underway, and Arkansans are selecting insurance coverage for the next 12 months. Anyone already enrolled in Medicare has an opportunity to make changes to his or her coverage, and anyone 65 or older can sign up if they’re not already covered. Carroll Astin with Arkansas Seniors Health Insurance Information Program says if you are new to Medicare, you should research the different options before signing up.
Astin says if you are currently enrolled, now is the time to consider if your plan still meets your needs. If you have original Medicare, it could be time to add a supplemental plan or Medicare Advantage.
