Last night at the Thayer City Council meeting, there were several items on the agenda; the council also heard from the members of the Thayer Revitalization Project. Rebecca Eckman with the Revitalization Project addressed the meeting on the progress that’s being made.
Mrs. Eckman said that before the community can grow, it has to be beautified. New welcome signs on each end of Thayer have been proposed, and in response to the project’s request for the removal of dilapidated businesses and homes, the council said that the city sent out eight certified nuisance complaints to the owners of these structures. Those owners have until November 21 to respond or clean up their property.
