The West Plains Lady Zizzers got their first win of the season last night as they defeated the Springfield Catholic Lady Irish 75 to 38 in first-round action of the 44th Annual Fair Grove Girls Invitational Tournament. Ainsley McWilliams led three Lady Zizzers in double figures with 22 points. Shaylee Peterson had 14 and Ashley Culton had 13. The Lady Zizzers will play Fair Grove Thursday night at 7 pm in the winner’s bracket semi-finals. Lady Zizzers are now 1-1 on the season.
The Mammoth Spring Bears hosted the Couch Indians on Monday, and the two teams split a pair of games. The Couch JV beat Mammoth Spring 43-42. In the Varsity Boys’ game, it was all Mammoth Spring 71-26. The Bears were led by Braxton Sneed, who scored 16 points. Aiden Matheny and Richard Gatewood scored 11 points each.
