Standoff near Alton ends with the arrest of an Oregon County man

A Standoff near Alton that lasted 22 hours has ended with a man in custody. ECNN has learned that the U.S. Marshall’s Office, local law enforcement, and the MSHP Swat Team attempted to arrest a wanted man at a house on AA Highway.  The Standoff began around 1 Thursday afternoon and ended this morning around 11 when Daniel Johnson who was wanted on a warrant for an incident in September was taken into custody and has been charged for that incident with two counts of second-degree assault of a special victim, two counts of armed criminal action, first-degree property damage, operating a vehicle in a careless manner involving an accident, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and operating a vehicle without a license. Johnson allegedly intentionally crashed two patrol vehicles during a chase in September. Additional charges are expected after the standoff that ended this morning.
