On Tuesday morning, fire destroyed the Sheltered Workshop in Salem Missouri.

The Dent County Sheltered Workshop on Walker Street in Salem was a cardboard recycling center and they were also collecting toys for a toy drive. The toys will be distributed this weekend and given to up to 500 families. Authorities think that the fire could continue for several days.  32 certified disabled employees are out of work and will need assistance with their basic daily needs.  To help 573-729-6900 or 573-247-3571. Monetary donations can be directed to the Bank of Salem or accepted at the Chamber of Commerce in Salem. The building was a total loss. Employees there build things like birdhouses and pill crushers. They also recycle for people in the community.
