The State of Missouri has one of the highest rates of veteran suicide in the country. Missouri loses nearly 200 veterans to suicide according to information provided by the U.S. Veterans Department. Thousands of veterans die by suicide every year and 7 out of 100 suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. Missouri has announced Lindsey Ward as their first Veterans Suicide Prevention Manager. This is a new position stemming from Governor Mike Parson signing two bills to create the Veterans Commission to help prevent veteran suicide.
