ECNN Sadly reports that former Sharp County Sheriff T.J “Sonny Powell has passed away. Powel was Sheriff in Sharp County from 1981 to December 2002. Powell was a member and past president of the Arkansas Sheriff’s Boys and Girls Ranch and past president of the Arkansas Sheriff’s Association. His funeral service is set for Saturday at 1 pm at the Wortham Funeral Home in Hardy.
