President Joe Biden declared today as a National Day of Mourning. It is the same day the official state funeral for Carter will be held at the Washington National Cathedral.
As a result of the designation, the Postal Service will not deliver mail. Its offices and facilities will be closed, but there will be “limited package delivery service on that day to ensure the organization does not experience any negative impacts to its package delivery operations.”
Regular activities and service will resume on Friday.
