34-year-old Blake Selby died Sunday Night at a Springfield Hospital. Selby was serving a three-year sentence for third-degree assault from Cole County and fourth-degree assault from Moniteau County. Authorities are conducting an autopsy. There were 19 deaths at the prison in 2024, 4 were ruled accidental, nine were of natural causes, one was a suicide and five are pending autopsy results. No foul play is suspected in Selby’s death.
