On Thursday, February 13th at approximately 12:34 pm Officers with the Thayer Police Department assisted South Central Drug Task Force with the execution of a narcotics-related search warrant. Upon arrival at the residence, contact was made with a male subject. After initially contacting the male subject, he fled on foot into the residence. Officers pursued him inside and the subject resisted arrest. The male subject was taken into custody and the search warrant was executed. The male subject arrested was found to be in possession of a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
35-year-old Ashton Shane Raney, of Thayer, was placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. An arrest warrant was issued charging Raney with second-degree Trafficking Drugs. The bond is set at $150,000 cash or corporate surety. A female subject located at the residence was questioned and released without charges.
