On Thursday, January 23, 2025, members of the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) and Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) attempted to serve a high-risk arrest warrant to Raymond Nazarian at a residence in Birch Tree. Nazarian had an active No Bond Probation & Parole Warrant for being an Absconder/Escapee and also faced a felony warrant out of Shannon County for Burglary.

During the attempt to serve the warrant, Nazarian fled on foot, dropping a pistol as he fled from deputies. Upon searching the residence he had fled from, authorities discovered illicit drugs and paraphernalia. As a result of this incident, Nazarian faces four felony charges: resisting arrest, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nazarian had been evading authorities and has made threats to “have a shootout with law enforcement” since January 23rd, but Thursday, at approximately 12:00 PM, the SCSO received a call about a burglary in progress. Captain McCoy and Detective Roberts responded to the location on County Road 458B. After meeting with the complainant, they were led to the house where the burglary was believed to be taking place.

Upon approaching the residence, Captain McCoy and Detective Roberts found an open door and entered the home. Raymond Nazarian stepped out of a doorway, attempting to flee but was surrounded and barefoot. He surrendered without further incident and was taken into custody. Nazarian was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
