The Thayer Bobcats and Lady Bobcats both got big wins on Saturday.
The Lady Bobcats beat Liberty 71-64, Abby Bowers led the Lady Bobcats with 28 points, Ryleigh Davis had 19 and Kadyn Hilles had 18 points. This victory secured the SCA Championship for Thayer for the second consecutive year and marked the 13th time in program history that they have achieved this honor. The Lady Bobcats finished the SCA undefeated at 7-0
The Bobcats beat Liberty 64-49. Easton Pitts led Thayer with 22 points, Brandon Prince had 16 points and Devin Harrington had 11 points. With the win the Bobcats are co-SCA Champions. This is their 5th straight SCA Championship and 18th in program history. The Bobcats finish SCA play at 6-1 and tied with Mountain Grove
The West Plains Lady Zizzers and Zizzer boys made the trip to Carl Junction Friday night and picked up some wins. The JV Lady Zizzers defeated Carl Junction 56 to 25. Dalani Wahome led the way with 25 followed by Julia Willard with 18.
The Varsity Lady Zizzers won 69 to 47. Shaylee Peterson led the way with 22 followed by Ainsley McWilliams with 18. Lady Zizzers are now 16 and 8 on the season and tied for first place in the Ozark Mountain Conference.
The Zizzer boys upset Carl Junction and won a thriller over the Bulldogs 65 to 64. Four Zizzers scored in double figures with Jared Kraft and Clayton Robbins leading the way with 15 each. Ethan Tuma and Aiden Judd added 10 points a piece. Zizzer boys are now 12 and 13 on the season.
