Fires bring Havok to Bakersfield

Major Fires in Bakersfield

2/28/25 Fire on 101 South of Bakersfield. There were several hundred acres burnt, 4 structures, 12 endangered structures, 1 head-on vehicle accident with injuries. Thankfully no lives were lost that we know. The Bakersfield volunteer fire department would like to give a huge thank you to all our volunteers, Patrons, emergency crews, and the Church for allowing us to set up our command post/staging area. Local community members who helped, Bakersfield Fire, Tecumseh Fire, Gamaliel Fire, Caulfield Fire, Dora Fire, West Plains Fire, Howell County Rural Fire, Lick Creek Fire, Cloud 9 Fire, Missouri Department of Conservation, Ozark County Ambulance, Ozark County Sheriff Department, Howell County Sheriff Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Howell Oregon Electric without all of you our little town would have burnt down.

12,000 gallons of water was used for yesterday’s fire
