39-year-old Alan Lancaster died in January of 2023. 18 inmates died at the prison in 2023. Michele Buckner who was warden at the prison during the rash of deaths has since been removed from her position as warden. An investigation was initiated after an employee hotline call was made from inside the facility, reporting contraband and other safety concerns. A court date has not been announced.
