
The Thayer City Council met last night for their regular monthly Council Meeting. The Council began by taking care of their regular monthly business by approving the consent agenda and paying bills. The Council then approved the generator quote from Central Power Systems. They then approved raising the Municipal Judge’s salary, postponed the discussion of the Thayer Housing Authority parking area, approved moving the April council meeting to April 15th due to the municipal election scheduled for April 8th, they approved the bids for new chlorinators for Wells 3 & 5, postponed the mowing bid, and after a heated discussion they postponed the approval of the land sale contract with Jordan’s Travel Center. A couple of residents expressed concern as to whether or not the City was following the law when they burned the Old Adam’s Western Store building and regarding the sale of the property.
The City Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month at City Hall.
