
Deadly storms moved across southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas claiming the lives of 6 locally. Three people were killed in an EF-3 tornado in Bakersfield. They have now been identified as Tammy Zastrow, Dana Ray Morris, and Erika Ryan. Three more people were killed in Independence County their names have not yet been released. In Cave City, officials say 6 people were injured. The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management reports 29 injuries in eight counties on Friday night. In Missouri deaths were also reported in Wayne County where six died, one death was reported in Butler County, and one in Jefferson County.
The National Weather Service says an EF-3 tornado touched down in Cave City with wind speeds of 165 MPH. Several homes and businesses were destroyed in the tornado, including a doctor’s office, a funeral home, and a parts store.
In Ash Flat several homes were destroyed by the storms, homes were also destroyed on Liberty Hill Road in Highland, and homes were destroyed on highway 167 south of Ash Flat.
Property damage was reported in Izard County in the Melbourne, Franklin, Boswell, and Mt Olive communities. Two people were injured in Franklin and were taken to a Little Rock Hospital.
Property damage was reported in Lawrence County in Jesup and roofs were torn off some homes in Black Rock.
Randolph County authorities report that there was damage in Ravenden Springs and north of Pocahontas
In Missouri damage was reported in several counties.
Howell County reported damage in and around West Plains. Buildings were damaged including a flea market south of town. Damages were reported on Highway 17 south of town near Glenwood.
Damage was reported also in the Alton, Rover, Thomasville, and Koshkonong areas in Oregon County, in Fremont in Carter County, and in Ozark County where several homes were destroyed in Bakersfield and three fatalities were reported.
