Sharp County Judge releases storm information

On Friday, March 14th,2025 Sharp County had 2 tornadoes come through Sharp Co at approx. 10 pm. The first storm came from Izard Co went through Ash Flat and Highland Communities and continued down Hwy 63 to the county line

 

The 2nd storm came through approx. 20 minutes later from Independence County through Cave City and traveling on 115 to the county line.

 

Sharp Co OEM, road dept, and emergency responders have responded to the affected areas

5 injuries have been reported in the Cave City area and transferred to WRMC with one life-threatening injury

 

Power crews are out trying to restore power PLEASE stay off roads if at all possible. We have to close roads due to sighteers.

County road crews and volunteers are out trying to get all roads cleared of debris.

Anyone that has debris damage on personal property can haul it to the edge of the county road and the road dept will pick it up.

 

DEBRIS MUST BE SEPARATED AS FOLLOWS

 

Construction & Demolition Debris – brick, drywall, lumber and plumbing

Vegetation – logs, plants, leaves, branches

White goods – refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, washers and dryers

Electronics – Ipads, TV, computers

Household Hazardous Waste – oils, paints, pesticides, cleaning material

 

Please call the county judge’s office at 870-994-7338 and give us an estimate of the damage done to your property as we need to give this information to FEMA for public assistance.
