
The Shannon County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of a man in Eminence. On Tuesday, March 18th, the Sheriff’s office received a report of the field on fire on Hwy D, in Eminence, MO. Upon arrival, it was determined that the fire had spread to a neighbor’s field, which was allegedly caused by Donald Conway. During the incident, Conway also assaulted a special victim by walking aggressively toward them with a machete and making threats. One firefighter at the scene suffered from heat exhaustion and smoke inhalation. The firefighter was unable to evacuate the area safely and had to be transported by air ambulance to a higher-level care hospital. Conway is reported to have set a total of four fires that were left unattended. Conway has been charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and is being held with a bond of $10,000 cash-only. Additionally, Conway is wearing an alcohol monitoring bracelet. He remains incarcerated in the Shannon County Jail. Further charges are anticipated.
