ST. LOUIS — Lars Nootbaar homered and Sonny Gray pitched five solid innings to help the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday.
Nolan Arenado also went deep late in the game for the Cardinals.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kyle Manzardo had a two-run double in the 10th inning to tie the club record for most RBIs on opening day, and the Cleveland Guardians defeated the Kansas City Royals 7-4 on Thursday.’
The Cardinals and Royals both have a day off today and return to action on Saturday at home.
