Strong storms hit Arkansas & Missouri on Wednesday

Severe storms moved across Arkansas and Missouri Wednesday afternoon with tornadoes confirmed in Nevada, Missouri, and between Advance and Delta, Missouri and also one confirmed near Bay Arkansas. There was one fatality between Advance and Delta. The Arkansas State Police report four injuries in Craighead County. The ASP says that there was reported damage in 22 counties, including Fulton, Independence, Izard, Lawrence, Randolph, and Sharp Counties locally.  The ASP reports that most counties are still assessing the full extent of the damage, but preliminary reports indicate impacts to homes, trees, power lines, and roadways due to wind gusts, hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported tornadoes in Washington, Cooper, and Vernon Counties on Wednesday.

In Houston, Missouri,  there were reports of damage to an airplane hangar at the Houston Memorial Airport and reports of damage at Skyview Terrace.

Homes and businesses were destroyed in Nevada, Missouri, and a Highway Patrol Trooper was injured in a home near Advance.

Several homes were damaged near Potosi, Missouri.

Large hail and heavy rain were also reported throughout both Arkansas and Missouri. More rain is expected in the next few days, and all of the listening area will be under a flood watch until Saturday evening.
