An arrest warrant was filed last week for 74-year-old David Degroot. Degroot allegedly wrote three checks to a livestock yard that were returned for insufficient funds. One was for $30,435.48, one for $28,778.26, and one for $38,708.57. Degroot faces a felony charge of violating the Hot Check Law greater than $25,000.
