
The former Chief Deputy in Ripley County has been arrested. The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated missing guns from evidence in the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office. A search warrant was served at the home of Charles Mays near Doniphan, where authorities found firearms that were on the list of missing guns from the evidence locker. 10 pistols were recovered. Mays is being charged with 14 counts of stealing firearms and one count of stealing $750 or more. He is being held on $50,000 bond and will be in court on May 13th.
