On April 23, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Ava Police Department responded to the parking lot near Subway for a report of harassment and stalking. Sheriff Degase and Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and LT. Butterworth and the Officers were able to identify the male suspect.
Law Enforcement from both agencies located the male subject identified as 54-year-old Aaron Meier of Ava, at his residence. Meier was summoned out of the residence. Meier came out of the residence, however, he failed to comply with directives and resisted arrest by grabbing the pistol magazines on one of the officer’s vests. Meier was then assisted into handcuffs and transported to the Douglas County Jail. Meier was placed on a 24 hr hol,d and a warrant was issued for Harassment 1st degree, Stalking 1st Degree, and Resisting arrest. Bond was set at $2500 cash only.
