Zizzer Track & Field wins Ozark Mountain Conference Meet

The Zizzer Track and Field Team had a great showing at Monday’s inaugural Ozark Mountain Conference Track and Field Championships at JFK-Springfield, MO.

The Zizzer Varsity and Junior Varsity Boys teams brought home 1st place and the Lady Zizzer team took 4th place.

Standouts from the day included; Jaxon Hunter (junior at WPHS). Jaxon threw two big marks today and set the new High School Boys Shot and High School Boys Discus records.

Jaxon Hunter: shot put 55’1″

Jaxon Hunter: discus 168’2″

Noah Friend: shot put 54’11.50″

Noah Friend: discus 164′ 4″

 

Zizzer distance events dominated as well. Seniors Carson King (4:24.02/9:50.83) and Kyler Gunter (4:27.71/10:02.78) swept the top two spots in both the 1600- and 3200-meter runs.

 

Zizzers captured three of the four events (4×100/4×200/4×800).

Freshman; Cameron Miller helped West Plains win the 4×100 and 4×200 relays and won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.97.
