Friday morning, the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man at Dollar General in Birch Tree. Deputy Roberts observed a maroon Pontiac G6 parked after hours at the Dollar General in Birch Tree. Upon contact, he identified the passenger as Terry Levi Puckett, who stated the vehicle wouldn’t start and that the driver had left to retrieve tools. Shannon County Central Dispatch confirmed Puckett is on probation for theft. After receiving verbal consent to search, Detective Roberts located a box of ammunition in the center console and a loaded 9mm handgun concealed in a tarp behind the driver’s seat. Puckett was arrested and transported to the Shannon County Jail. He is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – Dangerous Felon/Prior Conviction, a Class B Felony. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash only, with electronic monitoring required upon release.
