The Shannon County Sheriff’s Office was at a residence attempting to serve an active warrant. During that operation, Billy Jo Greer allowed entry into the home to locate the subject of the warrant. While inside the residence, Lt. Burgher observed a clear plastic baggie in plain sight containing a suspicious powder. A narcotics field test returned a positive result for methamphetamine. The evidence was immediately seized, and Billy Jo Greer was taken into custody and booked into the Shannon County Jail. Greer is currently on probation for Stealing and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Greer has now been formally charged with Class D Felony – Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond has been set at $5,000, and Greer will be subject to random drug testing as part of bond conditions.
