Wednesday, around 6 pm, Douglas County Deputies responded to a residence to arrest a female on felony Douglas County Warrants. The female fired several shots at the Deputies, and subsequently, the female suspect was shot by Douglas County Deputies. The suspect is currently in the hospital in critical condition. Both deputies were unharmed, and as a matter of routine, they were placed on administrative leave pending the investigation, which is being conducted by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office. Christian and Douglas County Deputies have been on the scene throughout the night processing the scene. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office wants to say a huge thank you to the Ava Police Department for taking the other calls as everyone was working on this shooting.
