The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the 63-year-old woman died when the water current pushed her kayak into a downed tree. The kayak overturned, and the woman was swept under the tree. Her body was recovered by floaters in the area, and she was pronounced dead by the Shannon County Coroner. The drowning happened on the Current River below Cave Spring.
