
On May 30, 2025, Susan Sinclair, age 58 of Seymour, was taken into custody by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis after being medically cleared for confinement.
Douglas County Deputies shot Sinclair on May 21, 2025, after she shot at Deputies who were attempting to take her into custody for felony warrants for Assault 3rd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, resisting/interfering with arrest which carried a No Bond, and a warrant for 40 counts of misdemeanor Animal Neglect and Abandonment.
Sinclair was issued another warrant for her actions on May 21, 2025 which include 2 counts of Assault 1st Degree involving special victim both Class A Felonies, 2 counts of Armed criminal action both Unclassified Felonies, 2 counts aiding or abetting a person discharging or shooting both Class A Felonies, unlawful use of a weapon a Class E Felony and Resisting/interfering with arrest for felony a Class E Felony.
Sheriff Degase stated, “I am grateful that neither of my deputies was injured during this incident and did exactly what was required of them by reverting to their training. Situations like this are why we place a high emphasis on our firearms training. Douglas County is blessed to have Sgt. Box and Deputy Evans protecting our County.”
