Man sentenced for deadly crash in West Plains in 2022

An Arkansas man has been sentenced on involuntary manslaughter charges for a deadly crash in West Plains in 2022.. Clayton Rainwater pleaded guilty to three counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of assault. He received four years of probation on each count, serving concurrently.

In May of 2022, Rainwater was pulling a 50-foot trailer full of cattle when it entered the intersection of U.S. 63 and State Route 17 and hit an SUV that was attempting to make a left turn. The truck then crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a southbound car driven by 22-year-old Alexias Crider. The truck then rolled on top of Crider’s car. Crider, 2-year-old Aiden McDaniel, and 1-year-old Brantley McDaniel died in the crash.
