The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved nearly $29.3 million in transportation investments for Texas County over the next five years. The projects are part of the 2026-2030 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, which outlines planned road and bridge improvements across Missouri. According to MODOT, this five-year program is the largest in state history, made possible by increased revenue from Missouri’s motor fuel tax and additional federal funding. The $13.3 billion Statewide Transportation Improvement Program includes $9.5 billion in contractor awards for the road and bridge work, covering 33,814 miles of highway and over 10,000 bridges and culverts. Missouri Department of Transportation Director Ed Hassinger said the program reflects “unprecedented levels of investment” and a full commitment to improving travel across the state.
