A Carter County man previously charged with sexual abuse is now facing an additional Felony charge following a continued investigation into a reported case of sexual abuse from earlier this year. According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, the original investigation began in June 2025 after a report of sexual abuse. Garrett Leonard was initially arrested on June 12th and charged with sexual abuse in the first degree. On Wednesday, July 17, Leonard was served with an additional warrant, this time charging him with Felony Child Molestation in the First degree. The case remains active, and no further information is being released at this time to protect its integrity.
