A man with a previous Felony theft conviction is facing new charges after allegedly making unauthorized purchases using a former employer’s customer account at multiple O’Reilly Auto Parts stores across several states. According to a report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the O’Reilly Auto Parts store in Ava on July 17th around 9:14 a.m. after corporate staff flagged a pattern of suspicious transactions. The store manager told officers the account had been used several times by a man employees knew as “Clint” to obtain auto parts without proper documentation or authorization. Similar fraudulent activity involving the same account number had also been reported at other O’Reilly locations. Investigators later identified the suspect as Marcus Lynn Woodall, after matching a photo taken by an Ava store employee to a known image of Woodall standing beside a 2007 Chevrolet truck. Authorities confirmed that Woodall used the vehicle’s VIN to purchase compatible parts and traced the account to Car-Mart on North Glenstone Avenue in Springfield. A manager at Car-Mart confirmed Woodall had previously worked there and likely had access to the company’s customer account. However, the manager made it clear that Woodall was not authorized to make any purchases. Invoices provided by the store manager showed $638.98 in unauthorized transactions. Further investigation revealed that Woodall has a prior Felony conviction for theft of property in Texas.
