
A West Plains man has been sentenced to 20 years for the death of his father in January 2023. Christopher Greenough pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in connection with the death of David Greenough, his father. The sentencing comes after an investigation revealed a history of domestic violence between the two. Authorities were called to the elder Greenough’s home for a report of an injured man. When deputies arrived, they found David Greenough face down in a chair, bleeding and unresponsive. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Investigators noted puncture wounds on the victim’s head. They also reported that Christoper Greenough appeared to be highly intoxicated at the time of the incident. According to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, there had been prior domestic violence concerns involving the father and son. Greenough will serve his sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
