Two men were observed by a police officer arguing on Missouri Avenue. The officer noticed one of the men was holding a gun. Gage Mayhall was allegedly holding a 9 mm handgun with a bullet in the chamber. One of the men told police that Mayhall kicked over his sign, and when the situation escalated, Mayhall removed the gun from his waistband and pointed it at him. Mayhall told officers that the other individual had approached him with a rock and that he drew his weapon in self-defense, denying that he ever pointed it at the man. Mayhall was found in possession of a grinder containing marijuana residue. Mayhall is under the legal age of 21 for possession. Mayhall is charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 4th Degree Assault.
