In a press briefing Thursday afternoon, Arkansas State Police and the Washington County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announced the arrest of 28-year-old Andrew McGann of Springdale in connection with a deadly stabbing at the Devil’s Den State Park. Authorities say McGann has admitted to the murders of Clinton and Cristen Bink of Prairie Grove, who were hiking with their two daughters when they were attacked. Investigators believe McGann killed the father first, then the mother, while the parents tried to protect their children and lead them to safety. The daughters reportedly ran nearly half a mile to find help. Witness statements, surveillance footage, and DNA evidence linked McGann to the crime scene. A composite sketch and a vehicle registered to McGann also aided in identifying the suspect. Law enforcement believes the attack was random, with no known connection between McGann and the victims. He was arrested Wednesday night at a barbershop in Springdale. Blood was discovered in his vehicle, and a search of his home led to further evidence tying him to the scene. McGann is charged with two counts of capital murder and is being held in the Washington County Jail with no bond set.
