Sunday afternoon, 36-year-old Stephen Whaples of Calico Rock, fled from the Arkansas State Police on Dolph Road. Despite a search of the area, law enforcement was unable to locate him at that time.
At approximately 3:15 a.m. on Monday, Izard County Deputies were called to the 1500 block of West Crossroads, where it was reported that Whaples had again been seen in the area and fled on foot. The Arkansas Department of Corrections Dog Team has been called to assist, and as of last report, the search is still ongoing.
Whaples is currently wanted for parole violations.
