
The council began with a public hearing to discuss the amendments to the animal ordinance. Then, during the regular meeting, they approved the ordinance. The council also approved paying the bills and the treasurer’s report. They approved the collector’s statement for the fiscal year. The City Council set a public Tax hearing for August 28th at 6 pm. They discussed the cemetery truck and agreed to do more research. Then, during the public participation, they were asked for an update on Jordan’s project from Mayor Donna Martin
City Clerk Brent Collins then gave an update on progress with dilapidated houses and weed control
The City Council then gave a lease for the Truck Pull in September. They then reviewed a bid for the remodel of the courtroom at a cost of $29,272.29. That was approved. They reviewed bids for a pressure/soft wash of the courthouse and police station. They also reviewed a bid for a GLS sampler for the Wastewater plant and reviewed bids to replace the chain-link fence around the cemetery. The Council wrapped up the open session by discussing the annual Missouri Municipal League Conference.
They went into closed session, and when they returned from closed session, they announced that they had hired Ellie Burrell as the Parks Director.
