
A multi-agency effort coordinated by the South Central Drug Task Force has resulted in the arrests of four individuals for trafficking drugs. On August 12, 2025, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted by Texas County deputies, initiated a traffic stop on a Pontiac G6 near the intersection of Route CC and Shafer Road in Texas County for the apprehension of a fugitive in the Pontiac. The Pontiac attempted to flee the stop on Shafer Road.
Texas County deputies deployed a tire deflation device, and the vehicle eventually stopped. A search of the vehicle and area led to the discovery of over 40 grams of Methamphetamine and over 100 capsules of Fentanyl. The occupants of the vehicle, Michael Skouby (age 44, of Licking), Skye Marler Giller (age 25, of Licking), Taylor Owens (age 25, of Houston), and John Paulson (age 66, of Licking) were arrested and charged with drug trafficking by Prosecuting Attorney Parke Stevens.
The South Central Drug Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional task force consisting of local law enforcement agencies coordinated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The Texas County Sheriff’s Office employs a deputy sheriff assigned to the drug task force. Along with the Texas County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol, additional assistance was provided by the Licking Police Department and Howell County Sheriff’s Office.
