An Oregon County man was charged following an altercation Tuesday evening. According to the Oregon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded after a report of an assault involving Kyle Barton. Authorities say the incident occurred when another man went to Barton’s residence to retrieve belongings. A physical confrontation followed, leaving the alleged victim with visible injuries. Barton admitted to the confrontation but claimed he acted out of fear. Barton has been formally charged with Felony third-degree assault and is being held in the Oregon County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
