A Stone County man is facing multiple charges following a high-speed chase in Baxter County earlier this month. Authorities say the incident began on August 14 in Gassville, when officers stopped 40-year-old Joshua James Langston for a defective taillight. Langston admitted his license was suspended and gave false information before fleeing, reaching speeds of 80 miles per hour in a 40 zone. He later crashed through a locked gate and abandoned his truck in a field. Langston was arrested the following day at the vehicle owner’s home. Court records show Langston has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2003, with arrests in multiple Arkansas and Missouri counties, including prior convictions for meth possession, theft, forgery, and fleeing. He has served two prison sentences in Arkansas and is a current parole absconder. Langston now faces 12 new charges, including two felonies for fleeing and ten misdemeanor counts. Bond was set at $17,060.
