WEST PLAINS, MO. Applications for the City of West Plains Community Development Grant Program are now available. This grant and sponsorship program utilizes funds from the City of West Plains Hotel/Motel Tax to promote tourism and economic development in West Plains. The event or project must be held or completed between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. The Tourism Advisory Council will review applications and make recommendations to City Council for grant awards.
Changes have been made to the grant program for 2026 including separating the application into three categories: Sponsorship, Sports Grant, and Tourism Marketing Grant. Applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event or project start date. Applications open on September 2, 2025, and will be accepted until funds are exhausted or October 31, 2026, whichever comes first.
Grant applications are available at www.explorewestplains.com. Click on the appropriate link at the bottom of the homepage. Grant applications can also be picked up at the Ozark Heritage Welcome Center, 2999 Porter Wagoner Blvd. Completed applications can be emailed to melissa.wharton@westplains.gov or dropped off or mailed to the welcome center.
