The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports that the former President of the Oakland Area Improvement Association has been arrested. 46-year-old Misty Francis Treat of Oakland was arrested for allegedly taking more than $10,000 from the OAIA. According to reports, Treat allegedly made withdrawals from the Association’s account at an ATM on Highway 5. Treat reportedly admitted to making withdrawals totaling between $8,000 and $10,000. When asked if the money was for personal use, she said “Probably.” Treat is facing two counts of theft of property and one count of forgery. She is free after posting $2,500 bond.
