On Wednesday, Thayer School notified parents and guardians that an unauthorized individual had boarded a school bus. Mrs. Hackworth’s Bus #24 Afternoon Route was boarded by the individual. The Thayer Police Department was called and effectively managed the situation. Consequently, the bus route experienced a 13-minute delay from its scheduled time. Thankfully, all students on board were safe and unharmed throughout the incident.
Superintendent Tonya Woods said the School District extends its sincerest apologies to the students and their families for the distressing experience.
