
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has launched the Strategic Traffic Operations and Rapid Mobilization (STORM) team to crack down on crime and dangerous driving across the state. The 23-member team includes K-9 units, drug interdiction officers, and motorcycle patrol, with support from the Patrol’s Aircraft Division. In its first large-scale deployment on September 16 in Jackson County, STORM made 18 misdemeanor and 12 felony arrests, issued 46 citations, and seized a firearm. The team will target high-crash areas, street takeover events, and other criminal activity statewide.
