Missouri State University-West Plains has 1,997 students enrolled this fall, a 3% increase from last year. The growth comes from continuing, online, and dual credit students. University leaders credit the increase to new academic and student support programs, including the TJ Swift House ASCEND Program, a music program, and the expansion of the online LPN-to-RN bridge nursing program. Grizzly Athletics has also grown, adding esports, softball, baseball, and rodeo. A new veterinary technology program is planned to launch in spring 2027. An additional 82 students are enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s level courses offered locally through the Missouri State University Outreach office.
