The Missouri State Highway Patrol has been asked to investigate. Ripley County deputies were called to a residence in Fairdealing just after midnight on Monday. Officers found a woman dead of an apparent gunshot wound. MSHP did not identify the woman. The Highway Patrol reports that the preliminary investigation has revealed no foul play was involved in the incident and poses no danger to the community. An autopsy to confirm the cause of death is pending.
