Four members of the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office have been recognized by state officials for their actions during the severe flooding that struck the area in April. The Arkansas Department of Public Safety and the Arkansas Department of Law Enforcement Standards and Training presented Sheriff Shane Russell, Sergeant Lane King, Lieutenant Bryce Trivitt, and Deputy Creston Duncan with the Invictus Award and the Medal of Valor. Sheriff Russell said the recognition reflects a community-wide effort, crediting the collaboration between multiple agencies and local residents during the March and April flooding events.
